Marital satisfaction plays an important role in the couple's life expectancy. It has been found that this construct is related to the occupational and personality characteristics of the couples. Accordingly, in this study, the mediating role of work-family conflict in the relationship between proactive personality and marital satisfaction has been assessed. The sample consisted of 142 married men and women working in an organization in Isfahan who were selected by simple random sampling and responded to research measures including the Proactive Personality Scale (PPS), the ENRICH Marital Satisfaction Scale (ENRICH), and the Work-Family Conflict Scale (WFCS). SPSS software and correlation coefficient and mediation analysis with the Bootstrap method was used for data analysis. The result showed a positive relationship between proactive personality and marital satisfaction. Also, there were negative relationships between proactive personality and work-family conflict and between marital satisfaction and work-family conflict. The mediating role of work-family conflict was also confirmed. Based on the results, organizations can use employees and applicants with proactive personality in occupations that, due to their special nature, may create work-family conflict. Organizational staff can also teach conflict management techniques to employees with proactive personalities by conducting training courses, thereby reducing work-family conflict, and improve marital satisfaction.

This study aimed to investigate the psychometric properties of the 18-item work-family conflict scale developed by Carlson, et al (2000) as an existing most comprehensive scale and the 6-item work-family conflict scale developed by Matthews et al. (2010) as a short scale with few items. For this purpose, 350 employees of the North Drilling Company of Ahvaz Branch participated in the research and completed the research questionnaires. Examination of the internal consistency of the questionnaire questions by Cronbach's alpha method and the correlation of each question with the total test score showed that these two scales have acceptable reliability. To evaluate the validity of the scales, two methods were used: First, the confirmatory factor analysis, as expected, showed that the three-factor models for the work-family and family-work conflict scale Carlson et al. (2000), as well as the two-factor model for the work-family and family-work conflict scale Matthews et al. (2010), fit well with the data. Second, the results of the empirical validity study showed that both work-family conflict scales have a positive relationship with the depression scale and a negative relationship with the satisfaction with life and subjective happiness scales. Overall, the research findings showed that both scales of work-family conflict, similar to the previous research, have acceptable validity and reliability. As a result, it can be used to measure this structure in Iranian employees.

Adolescence due to some changes Biological, psychological and social with a tendency to a variety of risky behaviors. The aim of this study was to investigate the causal relationship between parental psychological control and mindfulness with high-risk behaviors of adolescents with mediating the role of emotional self-regulation. The statistical population includes junior high school students in Zanjan, whose number was 46,000 and according to Krejcie and Morgan table and using multi-stage cluster random sampling method. Through cyberspace, due to the lack of face-to-face class, a sample of 403 students of both sexes was selected (of which 214 were in the girls 'group and 189 were in the boys' group) and Virtually, they responded to the Iranian Adolescent Risk Questionnaire (IARS), the Emotional Self-Regulation Questionnaire (MARS), the Dependent Oriented Parental Control Scale (DAPCS), and the Mindfulness Questionnaire (MFQ).Statistical method of structural equation modeling was used to analyze the data. Findings showed that emotional self-regulation mediates the relationship between parental psychological control and mindfulness and high-risk behaviors. Also, the direct effect of parental psychological control, mindfulness and emotional self-regulation with high-risk behaviors and the direct effect of emotional self-regulation with psychological control of parents and mindfulness were significant. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that family support and control play an important role in preventing the tendency to high-risk behaviors. Equipping students with individual skills such as mindfulness and emotional self-regulation can also be effective in preventing high-risk behaviors.

Abstract: Authentic and balanced relationships between parents and children are one of the effective factors in children’s well-being and mental health. Transactional analysis is considered a comprehensive communication theory about personality and can help parents deal with their children. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of transactional analysis on maternal parenting styles. The design of this study was of a quasi-experimental type with pre-test, post-test and control group. 30 mothers participated in this study, assigned to experimental and control groups (15 each). The experimental group were trained in eight 90 minute sessions of trancactional analysis. To collect the research data, the Baumrind Parenting Style Inventory (PSI) was administered to both groups before and after the intervention. Results revealed that mothers in the experimental group scored higher in the authoritative style and lower in authoritarian and permissive styles in their post test. It can be concluded that trancactional analysis training may have helped mothers in controling their emotions and sorting to adult relationships instead of scolding their children.

Abstract: Child anxiety, as one of the important factors that affect the development and performance of the person, is affected by many environmental and relational factors including personality traits, copying styles, anxiety sensitivity, child cognitive bias, parental anxiety beliefs and parent-child relationships. The main purpose of this study was to develop the structural modelling of child anxiety based on child and parent variables. The participants of this study were 279, 11-12 year students (129 male and 150 female) studding in Tabriz schools. They completed the Eysenck Personality (JEPQ), the Child Anxiety Sensitivity (CASI), the Cognitive Bias (CDS) and Child Anxiety Signs Questionnaires (MASQ). Parents completed the Mother-child Relationship (CPRS) and the Parental Anxiety Beliefs questionnaires (PABQ). The results of the data analysis revealed that due to cognitive bias, child personality characteristics, mother-child relationships and parental beliefs can significantly predict child anxiety signs. The Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA = 0/05) and the Comparative Fit Index (CFI = 0/95) were optimal. This model determines that personality variables, anxiety sensitivity, cognitive bias of child and mother-child relationships and parental beliefs are important directions in child anxiety and these elements should be taken into consideration in dealing with the causes and treating child anxiety.

Emotional divorce, as an essential factor in extramarital relations and legal divorce, is influenced by different variables such as psychological basic needs, marital expectations and family function. This study was carried out to provide a model for predicting emotional divorce based on psychological basic needs, marital expectations and family functioning. 248 married women (age 25-50) were selected from the participants in family training programs in Abhar. They completed the Basic Needs Satisfaction in General Scale (BNSG-S), the Family Assessment Device (FAD), the Marital Expectations Questionnaire (MEQ) and the Emotional Divorce Questionnaire (EDQ). The results showed negative correlations between psychological basic needs and marital expectations and emotional divorce as well as positive correlations between family function and emotional divorce. Also, psychological basic needs and family function were significantly correlated. Results of path analysis showed that psychological basic needs could affect emotional divorce indirectly through family function. Marital expectations exerted both a direct and an indirect effect, through family functionon emotional divorce. It was also shown that family function had an impact on emotional divorce. The findings suggest that the relations between psychological basic needs, marital expectations and emotional divorce are not linear and family function could play a moderating role in these relations.

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of cognitive hypnosis therapy on the body image and marital satisfaction of women. The study's design was of type of quasi-experimental and pre-test-post-test-follow-up with the control group. The statistical population included all women referred to one of the counselling centers of Babolsar. 22 women were selected by available sampling method and according to inclusion criteria and assigned to experimental and control groups randomly (11 subjects for each group). The experimental group individually received cognitive hypnosis therapy for 11 ninety minutes weekly sessions, while the control group did not receive any intervention during this period. Both groups answered the Littleton Body Image Scale (BICI) and Enrich Marital Satisfaction questionnaire (ESQ-47) in three stages of pre-test, post-test, and follow-up. The collected data were analyzed using the covariance analysis statistical method and the Ben Ferroni post hoc test. The results of covariance analysis showed a significant difference between body image and marital satisfaction scores in post-test and follow-up stages of both experimental and control groups and cognitive hypnosis therapy resulted in increasing marital satisfaction and improving women's body image and after two months the results were consistent. Therefore, based on the findings of the present study, the use of cognitive hypnosis therapy can be suggested as a suitable and effective treatment method in individual, familial, and couples counseling.

Emotional divorce is a form of divorce in which the couples continue to live together but are cold towards each other, feel isolated, and live separately without obtaining a formal divorce. This study aimed to develop a model which examines the cause of emotional divorce based on emotional aggression and dyadic coping with the mediating role of emotion regulation strategies among couples in Guilan. The research design was descriptive and structural equation modeling. The statistical population of this study included all married individuals living in Guilan in 2021. The sample size was 253 individuals who were selected through the purposive sampling method. Gottman’s Emotional Divorce Scale (EDS), Nelson-Carroll’s Covert Relational Aggression Scale (CRAViS), Bodenmann’s Dyadic Coping Inventory (DCI), and Gross-John’s Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) were used to collect data. The collected data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The results showed that the causal model of the relationship between emotional aggression, dyadic coping, emotion regulation strategies, and emotional divorce in couples based on different indicators had a good fit. Emotional aggression, dyadic coping, and emotion regulation had a direct effect on the couple’s emotional divorce. Moreover, emotional aggression and dyadic coping had an indirect effect on the emotional divorce of couples through emotion regulation strategies (P < 0.05). Therefore, emotional aggression, dyadic coping, and emotion regulation strategies play an important role in the rate of emotional divorce of couples; therapists’ attention to these three components can be important in reducing the rate of emotional divorce of couples.

The family is of particular importance in different societies. Family Triad Model is a comprehensive model by Iranian culture. It helps to create a coherent family through three components, we-ness, flexible boundaries, and joining. This study was conducted to predict the sides of the family triad model based on the couple’s early maladaptive schemas. This research was a correlation study and the statistical population consisted of all couples living in Tehran. 151 couples responded to the Family Triad Model Scale (FTMS) and short form of Young’s schema questionnaire (YSQ-SF). According to analyzed data, Schemas are classified into three categories based on the intensity of impact on the Family Triad Model. The first category is the spouses' ineffective schemas on the sides of the family triad model. In this category, if there is a schema in each of the spouses, the sides of the model are not negatively affected. The second category is the very effective schemas of spouses on the sides of the family and model. In the presence of these schemas in each of the spouses, almost all sides are negatively affected. The third category is schemas with different effects on the sides of the family and model. If schemas in this category are in each of the spouses, the family triad model is affected differently. The results showed that the existence of schema in husbands has a more destructive effect on the family triad model. The results of the study are predictive for the quality of marital relations and the quality of spouses' relations with main and in-law families. Therefore, these results are useful in family and couple counseling.

Extramarital relationship is the establishment of any relationship with a third party without the knowledge of the spouse. Marital infidelity is a multidimensional issue in which various factors play a role. The aim of this study was to combine the results of qualitative studies conducted in the area of infidelity and extramarital affairs in men and women using a meta-synthesis method. The research method was qualitative meta-synthesis from the perspective of Sandelowski and Barroso. After asking the research question, systematic search based on Persian and English keywords was performed from domestic databases such as Noormagz, Magiran, SID and foreign databases such as Google scholar, PubMed, Scopus from 2002 to 2021. A total of 61 qualitative articles were extracted. Some of these articles were excluded due to the inappropriateness in the content, irrelevant research method and duplication. Finally, 14 articles were reviewed. The meta-synthesis results showed that three factors, including basic or underlying (14 concepts), contextual (12 concepts) and intervening (19 concepts) factors are directly and indirectly involved in extramarital affairs and infidelity. Contextual and intervening factors may pave the way for the emergence of basic factors in causing marital infidelity. Also, the basic factor is not only influenced by other factors but also plays a decisive role in infidelity. A set of factors play a role in the occurrence of infidelity and each of them can be play a role in this regard. By identifying these factors and developing an educational package appropriate to each of the causes, effective action can be taken to prevent infidelity.

Abstract: Marital problems cause many crises in daily lives of a large number of families. What is the role of early maladaptive schemas in development and maintaining of these problems? What is the possible role of difficulty in emotion regulation in early maladaptive schemas and marital problems? The present study aimed to investigate the mediating role of difficulty in emotion regulation in the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and marital problems. Two hundred and eighty seven married volunteer students (158 females, 129 males), living in Urmia, participated in this study. Participants completed the Golombok Rust Inventory of Marital State Questionnaire (GRIMS), the Young Schema Questionnaire-Short Form (YSQ-SF), and the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS). The results showed a significantly positive correlation between early maladaptive schemas and marital problems, and difficulty in emotion regulation. The results of path analysis showed that the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and marital problems was mediated by difficulty in emotion regulation. According to the results of the present study, it can be concluded that the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and marital problems is not linear and the difficulty in emotion regulation can play a meditational role between the two.

Couples' beliefs and thoughts are included among the most important factors that should be considered in the process of consulting with couples. This study aimed to develop, validate and determine a scale for measuring couples' beliefs and thoughts. In the first study, 39 couples were selected. Using semi-structured interviews and literature review, 67 beliefs and thoughts were identified and 52 items were prepared after the process of data validation. In the second study, 65 couples were randomly selected and answered a scale of 52 items. After data was analyzed using correlation coefficient between each item and the whole scale, 48 items were selected. In the third study, 201 couples were selected and answered a scale of 44 items. The results of the factor analysis of the scale showed that 44 questions had a factor loading of more than 0.4 and that the scale is saturated with 8 factors. In the fourth study, 53 couples were selected to measure the final reliability of the scale. They completed the final scale of 44 items. Internal consistency coefficients were obtained for all calculated factors using Cronbach's alpha. In the fifth study, 37 couples were selected in order to determine the reliability of the retest and the simultaneous validity of the scale. The reliability of the test and retest with a two-week interval was calculated. To measure the simultaneous validity of couples' beliefs and thoughts, the couples' Relationship Attributions Measure(RAM) were used. All correlation coefficients were significant. Therefore, based on the results, the scale has appropriate psychometric properties and can be used in the related researches and in family counseling services.

Discovering criteria and characteristics of a healthy family is quite essential from both conceptual aspect and therapeutic basis. This study was targeted at developing a model of healthy family in Iranian society. A mixed method (qualitative-quantitative) of research was applied to the study. In the qualitative stage, the researchers interviewed selected couples and family specialists and then based on their opinions, criteria and characteristics of healthy family were identified. Subsequently, the relevant investigations carried out concerning healthy family were scrutinized out, of which topics on healthy family extracted. In the second stage, the model was investigated for its fitness with fieldwork studies. In analyzing transcripts of interviews with couples, 83 and 19 categories were obtained respectively from open coding and axial coding based on topic similarity. Likewise, through analysis of transcripts of interviews with family specialists, 106 and 21 categories established while using open and axial coding respectively. Finally, qualitative analysis of previous researches on healthy family resulted in 114 categories which were then distributed into 20 categories in the light of axial coding in accordance with topic similarity. As a result, a model of healthy family was constructed including fourteen dimensions by means of triangulation in compliant with the categories extracted from interviews with family specialists, couples, and the available previous research results. The findings also revealed that the qualitative model suggested for healthy family fitted fieldwork data and supposed factorial structure was also confirmed.

The research method was an experimental study, including pretest-posttest and follow-up with control group. The research instrument used in this study was Conners Parent Rating of Childhood Behavior Problems (CPRCBP). From all the students who were referred to a psychological center, 36 male students were selected from elementary schools in Sanandaj, and were assigned to two groups: experimental and control (18 students each). Before starting the training, pretest was administered to the two groups. Then, the experimental group was exposed to child-parent relation therapy. At the end of training sessions, post-test, and one month later follow up test was administrated to groups. The results showed that child-parent relation therapy has decreased significantly the symptoms of ADHD in posttest and follow-up. Also, child-parent relation therapy has decreased significantly the attention deficit and hyperactivity subscales. The results indicated that child-parent relation therapy is significantly effective in decreasing symptoms of ADHD. Applying this method is recommended by the psychologists, counselors and psychiatrics.

The prevalence of type one diabetes is rising all around the world. After diagnosis, family system faces many stressful problems and tensions; Specially mothers, as main caregivers, experience psychological, emotional and social challenges. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between parent anxiety, and mental wellbeing and , life quality in mothers of children with type one diabetes. 107 mothers were selected from among Tehran Diabetes Association clients and completed the Parenting Stress Scale (PSI- SF), the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ), and the Iranian Quality of Life Questionnaire (WHOQOL). The results of data analysis showed that parent stress would have a negative correlation with both variables of quality of life and mental health and their subscales. Besides, parenting stress could predict the mothers` quality of life and mental health. It can be concluded that parent anxiety has a considerable effect on the life quality and mental wellbeing of such mothers so that it would be desirable to design and practice interventions for reducing parental anxiety and improving the mothers` life quality and mental wellbeing.

Marital adjustment is one of the most important indicators of women's marital quality. Several studies have investigated the role of marital standards and relationship attributions in predicting marital quality in married couples. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of the dimensions of marital standards and relationship attributions in predicting adjustment/ non-adjustment among married women. A sample of 324 married women (150 non-adjusted and 174 adjusted) was selected from all married women in Ahvaz. Participants completed the Inventory of Specific Relationship Standards (ISRS) and the Relationship Attributions Measure (RAM). . Results obtained from Enter Discriminant analysis revealed that adjustment or non-adjustment in marital relationship can be predicted by the variables of marital standards (personal boundaries, control outcome, instrumental and expressive investment) and relationship attributions (locus of control, stability, globality, intent, motivation and blame). Also, Stepwise Discriminant analysis of the data indicated that motivation attribution, expressive investment standard and locus of control attribution are the strongest predictors of adjustment/non-adjustment in marital relationships. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that marital standards and relationship attributions play a significant role in women’s marital adjustment.
