The family is a human-producing organization, the origin of other social institutions, and the basic pillar of every Society. Spirituality is one of the factors that play a vital and important role in the multilateral health of family members. this study aimed to investigate the role of the dimensions of attitude and practical commitment to prayer in predicting the family efficiency and the satisfaction of being a parent in the staff of Quyen. This research is a descriptive-correlative study. The statistical population of this study was the staff of Qayen, among which 250 (57 women and 193 men) employees were selected by random sampling. The measurements were Questionnaire of Attitude and Practical Commitment to Prayer, Questionnaire of Family Efficiency(S.FEQI), and Kansas Parental Satisfaction Scale(KPSS). The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between the dimensions of attitude and practical commitment to prayer whit family efficiency and satisfaction of being a parent. The results of the regression analysis showed that among the dimensions of attitude to prayer, the dimension of "the presence of heart while praying" can predict family efficiency and satisfaction of being a parent. It can be concluded that the implementation of divine precepts whit the presence of heart is associated with family efficiency and the satisfaction of being a parent. This emphasizes the importance of prayer in human life and this is a strong cognitive and scientific justification for individuals to have a positive attitude towards prayer and to need to perform it. According to the results of this study, it is suggested that with more attention to the Islamic lifestyle and the strengthening of religious beliefs attempts to have a better and more satisfying life.

Research on marriage suggests that emotional exchanges are powerful predictors of marital quality and stability. What is the role of negative emotions in destructive marital exchanges in females? What is the role of positive emotions in decreasing destructive marital exchanges in females? In response to these questions, the present study was designed to investigate the moderating role of positive emotions on the relationship between negative emotions and destructive marital exchanges in females. Participants were 125 females living in Hendijan. All participants were asked to complete the Positive Emotions Scale (PES), Negative Emotion Scale (NES), and Destructive Marital Exchanges (DME). The results showed that negative emotions were positively associated with destructive marital exchanges in females. Moreover, results showed that positive emotions moderate the relationship between negative emotion and destructive marital exchanges in females. Based on the results of the present study, it can be concluded that the extent of positive relationship between negative emotions and destructive marital exchanges is lower in females with positive emotions than females with negative emotions. These findings would be helpful for understanding the important role that emotion regulation plays in marital success and administering interventions to improve couples’ emotional functioning.

The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of schema-based family education programs in emotion management in maladapted adolescents. The present study is applied research regarding the purpose and quasi-experimental regarding the data collection method, with a randomly selected two-group design and pre-test and post-test. The statistical population of this study consisted of adolescents with behavioral problems of Bojnord city. Participants were the students who received the highest scores in the Achenbach system of empirically-based assessment (CBCL) among the students of three schools. They were then randomly divided into two groups of control and experiment, with 15 people in each group. The cohabitation of parents, general health of participating parents, and exclusion criteria, including acute or chronic physical illness or any other medical illness that precluded attendance in meetings, receiving other psychological interventions, undergoing a similar program, and receiving medication. Participants in both groups received CERQ and BERQ questionnaires as pre-test and post-tests to complete before and after the intervention program. The experimental group was trained in schema-based family education for 13 sessions. The control group did not receive any intervention during this period. The results of research on behavioral emotion regulation showed that schema-based family education program was significantly effective at p= 0.01 on the components of “withdrawal” and “seeking social support” and, at p= 0.05, did not affect the components of “seeking distraction,” “actively approaching,” and “ignoring.” Findings also showed a significant effect on the components of cognitive emotion regulation, “adapted strategies,” and “non-adapted strategies” at p= 0.01. Schema-based family education programs can sometimes enhance the components of emotion management in adolescents with behavioral problems and can be effective in prevention and rehabilitation. The results showed that the schema-based family education programs were effective in both components of cognitive emotion regulation and some components of behavioral emotion regulation (withdrawal and actively approaching).

The failure of couples in resolving marital problems could be expressed in various forms so that each of them can be a threat to the health of marital relationship. One of the causes of marital disputes is disaffection which is common in many couples and is influenced by many factors including differentiation, neuroticism, forgiveness and martial conflict. The purpose of this study was to examine the causal relationship between differentiation, neuroticism and forgiveness and marital disaffection by mediation of marital conflict. For this purpose, a sample of 300 married male teachers in elementary, middle and high schools of Estahban participated in this study. Participants were asked to respond to the Marital Disaffection Scale (MDS), the Revised Differentiation of Self Questionnaire (DSI-R), the Neuroticism of NEO Five-Factor Personality Inventory (NEO-FFI), the Forgiveness Scale (FS) and Sanai’s Revised Marital Conflicts Questionnaire (MCQ-R). The results showed that all coefficients of the path between variants were statistically significant. Moreover, the direct paths of differentiation, neuroticism, forgiveness and marital conflict to marital disaffection were statistically significant. The direct paths of differentiation, neuroticism and forgiveness to marital conflict were significant as well. Also, the results of this study revealed that the indirect relationship between differentiation, neuroticism and forgiveness and marital disaffection was also significant through marital conflict. It seems that marital disaffection is a complex phenomenon which is influenced by various factors such as differentiation, neuroticism, forgiveness and martial conflict.

situations in which spouses’ interests and needs are different are unavoidable. Yet, the ability to manage differences constructively assists couples establish intimate relationships. In an Islamic culture, tolerance is defined as the best way of dealing with differences in human relationships. The current research aimed to predict marital intimacy based on an Islamic model in spouses’ relations. A total of 240 married couples (118 women and 122 men) participated in the study and filled out the Tolerance in Spouses` Relationships Scale (TSRS) and the Intimacy Scale (IS). The results of the research showed significantly positive correlations among the four components of tolerance (spouse`s empathy and acceptance, emotional control and patience, facilitation of spouse's growth and actuation process, and beneficence and forgiveness toward spouse), its total score and marital intimacy. Also, the results revealed that spouse`s empathy and acceptance as well as the beneficence and forgiveness toward spouse could predict marital intimacy more than other components. The remaining variables, emotional control and patience, and facilitation of spouse`s growth and actualization process were excluded from the regression model because of overlapping with other predictor variables. According to the results of the research, one can conclude that tolerance with an Islamic approach plays a determining role in predicting marital intimacy. The findings of the present research can be used by specialists and family therapists.

Relational ethics deals with fairness and unfairness in intimate relationships. It also deals with trustworthiness, justice, loyalty, merit, and entitlement between members of a relationship. Relational ethics requires members of the relationship to assume responsibility for consequences in the process of give and take. The Relational Ethics Scale (RES) consists of two types of components: vertical and horizontal. The vertical dimension of the scale measures relational ethics in family of origin and the horizontal dimension measures current relationships between spouses. The purpose of this study was to investigate the psychometric properties of the Relational Ethics in married men and women in Ahvaz. 208 married participants (89 males, 119 females) were asked to complete the Relational Ethics Scale (RES), the Relational Assessment Scale (RAS) and the Measure of Perceived Equity (MPE). Results confirmed the six-factor structure of the RES. They also showed that the RES has a suitable concurrent validity and reliability in measuring the couples’ relational ethics. Findings showed that this scale can be appropriately used in research studies as well as in premarital consultation and couple therapy by psychologists and family counselors.

Abstract: Dissatisfaction, incompatibility, and couple relationship distress have made health of the individual and family difficult and will lead to irreparable consequences at the community level; therefore, the present study aimed to investigate fitting of the causal model based on the couple relationship distress according to negative meta-emotion with the mediating role of rejection sensitivity in married people. The method of present study was descriptive-correlational. The statistical population of this study consisted of all married people in Rasht city in the summer of 2019. Two hundred people from this statistical population were selected via multistage random sampling and participated in this research. The instruments of Marital Taxon Self-Report Measure (MTSRM), Meta-Emotion Scale (MES), and The Rejection Sensitivity RS-adult Questionnaire (A-RSQ) were used for gathering data. The results showed that negative meta-emotion and rejection sensitivity had a positive and significant relationship with the couple relationship distress. The results also showed that rejection sensitivity can mediate the relationship between negative meta-emotion and the couple relationship distress. The results indicate the importance of negative meta-emotion and rejection sensitivity in predicting the couple relationship distress. Thus, the findings of this study, in addition to expanding the research literature, highlight the necessity to pay attention to emotional and interpersonal characteristics in couple's relationship promotion programs in order to reduce marital distress for psychologists.

The present research was conducted to clarify the causal relationship between family functioning and prosocial behaviors with the mediating role of psychological maturity. This descriptive research was correlational. Its statistical population consisted of adults aged 18 years and older, of which 436 individuals (i.e., 349 women and 87 men) were selected as the sample using the convenience sampling method. The Prosocial Tendencies Measure revised by Carlo et al. (PTM-R), the Family Assessment Device of Epstein et al. (FAD), and the Psychological Maturity scale of Mohammadkhani et al. were utilized to collect data. Given the results of the Pearson correlation test, significant positive relationships were observed between family functioning and intrinsically motivated prosocial behaviors, between the problem-solving dimensions in family functioning and extrinsically motivated prosocial behaviors, between family functioning and psychological maturity, between the social domain of psychological maturity and prosocial behaviors in emotional and dire situations. In contrast, a negative and significant relationship was revealed between psychological maturity and extrinsically motivated prosocial behaviors. The results of structural equation modeling indicated the significant mediating role of psychological maturity in the relationship between family functioning and prosocial behaviors with intrinsic motivation. Generally, it can be said that optimal family functioning can influence the psychological maturity of its members and their growth, leading individuals to adopt prosocial behaviors with internal motivation and higher levels of moral reasoning.

Having a mentally retarded child has a significant effect on family mental health and leads to anxiety and psychological problems. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of emotion regulation training based on Gross Model on anxiety, depression and emotion regulation in mothers of children with intellectual disability. The research method was quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest design and control group. 30 mothers of boys with intellectual disability were randomly divided into two experimental groups (15 people) and control group (15 people). The experimental group received emotional training based on Gross model in 8 sessions that were 2 hours; While the control group did not receive any intervention. All subjects answered Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) Beck anxiety inventory (BAI), and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-II) before and after the training. The results of these analyzes showed that the scores of emotional regulation, anxiety and depression of the subjects in the experimental group were significantly lower compared to the control group in the post-test stage. These findings suggest that emotion regulation training is a good way to improve emotion regulation and reduce anxiety and depression in mothers of children with intellectual disability and can be used as an intervention with empirical evidence in psychological clinics.

One of the most important factors affecting marital satisfaction is early childhood experiences with parents. These experiences have an important role in developing attachment and early maladaptive schemas. The present study was performed to investigate the mediating role of early maladaptive schemas in relationship between attachment styles and marital satisfaction. A total of 333 participants (194 women and 139 men) completed the Hazan and Shaver's Adult Attachment Questionnaire (AAQ), Young Schema Questionnaire (YSQ) and Enriching and Nurturing Relationship Issues, Communication and Happiness (ENRICH). The results showed that there is no significant relationship between avoidant-attachment style and marital satisfaction, but marital satisfaction had significant positive relationship with secure attachment style and significant negative relationship with ambivalent-attachment style. Also, the early maladaptive schemas mediate these relationships. Based on the results of the present study it can be concluded that individuals who have more secure attachment style develop more positive concept of self, as the result, they have less maladaptive schemas. So they follow more adaptive behaviors and less maladaptive behaviors in their marital relationships, therefore they will experience more marital satisfaction. In contrast, the individuals who have more insecure and ambivalent attachment style have more negative concept of self, therefore they own more maladaptive schemas about self, hence more maladaptive behaviors and less marital satisfaction.

Family is the most important social environment that affects the people’s growth. People are affected by their homes’ environment, not only physically and biologically, but also by their personality and early experiences. The aim of this study was to test a model consisting of causal relationship between parenting styles and academic performance, by mediating role of academic self-efficacy and achievement motivation. 236 Shahid Chamran University students (117 males and 119 female) completed Baumrind Parenting Styles Questionnaire (BPSQ), Achievement Motivation Test (AMT) and Academic Self-Efficacy Scale (ASES). The findings indicated that the authoritative parenting style had a positive direct effect and the authoritarian parenting style had a negative direct effect on achievement motivation and academic self-efficacy. The permissive parenting style had a negative direct effect on academic self-efficacy but had no effect on achievement motivation. Also, academic self-efficacy had a positive direct effect on academic performance, but there was no meaningful relationship between achievement motivation and academic performance. The results showed that the proposed model does not fit the data well. Therefore, a better fit was obtained by omitting the non-significant path from permissive parenting style to achievement motivation. In addition, the indirect total effects of authoritarian, authoritative and permissive parenting styles with academic performance, mediated by the role of academic self-efficacy and achievement motivation was significant.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of intercultural couple therapy on intercultural couple’s marital conflict in Isfahan. The research procedure was quasi-experimental with pre-test, post-test and follow-up design with control group. Statistical population consisted of 16 couples referring to counseling centers of Isfahan, who were randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. The depended variable was marital conflict that was assessed through a marital conflict questionnaire. The independent variable was intercultural couple therapy that was performed for the experimental group in 8 sessions. The results showed that intercultural couple therapy decreased marital conflict of intercultural couples. These findings revealed that suitable training in the form of intercultural couple therapy can reduce couples' psychological worries and decrease their marital conflict.

Since identifying the influential variables of psychological well-being is of significance, the purpose of this study was to investigate the causal relationship of work-family enrichment with psychological well-being, considering the mediating role of work-life balance. The participants of this study were 363 (222 males; 141 females) employees of NIDC who completed the Work-Family Enrichment Questionnaire (WFE), the Work-Life Balance Questionnaire (WLB), the Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (JSQ), the Family Satisfaction Questionnaire (FSQ) and the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12). Findings showed that the proposed model fit the data properly. Better fit and more meaningful results were obtained by using modification indices. The results also indicated positive relationships between work-family enrichment and family-work enrichment with psychological well-being and between work-life balance and psychological well-being. The indirect relationships between work-family enrichment and family-work enrichment with psychological well-being through work-life balance were supported. Accordingly, it can be concluded that the relationships between work-family enrichment and family-work enrichment with psychological well-being is not a direct relationship, and the work-life balance can play a mediating role. Highlighting the ways of increasing positive spillover from work to family by managers is one of the important practical implications of the present study.
