The family as the first and most important factor in child development has a major impact on the child's mental health and psychological problems. Evidences suggest that emotional security has a mediating role in the relationship between family functioning and child’s behavioral problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the mediatory role of child’s emotional security in the relations between family functioning and children’s behavioral problems. The sample consisted of 262 fifth and sixth graders of Tehran (117 girls and 145 boys) and their mothers who were selected according to cluster sampling method. The students completed the Security on Family Scale (SFS), the Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scale (FACES-III), and the mothers completed the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ). Results of the analysis showed that both dimension of family functioning (cohesion and adaptability) correlated with all emotional security dimensions, and they also could play a mediatory role in relation between family functioning and child’s behavioral problems. In fact, effective functioning of the family increases security and decreases preoccupation and disengagement. Through increasing security and decreasing insecurity family functioning can reduce child’s behavioral problems. With respect to the results of this study, teaching the basic functions of the family and their effects on children's emotional security seems useful in preventing problems between children and parents.

Infertility as a crisis in marital relationships not only causes psychological problems, but can also act as a powerful blow against the relationship between the couple. The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of emotion-oriented couple therapy and Gottman couple therapy on sexual function, marital sexual satisfaction and depression in infertile couples. In this quasi-experimental study, 54 infertile couples from Omid Royan Infertility Center in Arak were selected and divided into two intervention groups (36 couples) and a control group (18 couples). In the intervention group, the training content was performed by emotion-focused couple therapy and Gottman couple therapy in ten 60-minute sessions for infertile couples, and two months later, the test was followed up. Data were collected using demographic information form, sexual function questionnaire, marital sexual satisfaction and depression and was analyzed using SPSS software version 23. The results showed that there is a difference between the effectiveness of emotion-oriented couple therapy and Gottman couple therapy on the sexual performance of men in infertile couples (P<0.05). However, there is no difference between the effectiveness of emotion-oriented couple therapy and Gottman couple therapy on women's sexual performance, marital sexual satisfaction of women and men, and depression of infertile couples. (P<0.05). Also, the results showed that both emotion-oriented couple therapy and Gottman methods were effective on sexual performance, marital sexual satisfaction and depression of infertile couples, and the scores of the post-test group and the follow-up period were better than the control group (P<0.05). The implementation of both methods of couple therapy has been effective on sexual function, marital sexual satisfaction and depression of infertile couples. Therefore, it is recommended that these two treatments including emotion-focused couple therapy and Gottman be used to improve sexual functioning, sexual satisfaction and marital depression of infertile couples.

Abstract: The Affective Events Theory (AET) is a psychological model that was developed by Weiss and Cropanzano. According to this theory, a person's emotional responses to events in the workplace will increasingly determine his or her future attitudes and behavior. The purpose of this study was to examine this theory by exploring the relationship between work-family enrichment and organizational citizenship behavior through job satisfaction and positive mood. Two hundred and seventy employees of National Iranian Drilling Company participated in this study. For data collection, participants completed the Work-to-Family Enrichment Scale (WFES), the Positive and Negative Affect Scale (PANAS), the Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (JSQ) and the Organizational Citizenship Behavior Scale (OCBS). Results indicated that work-family enrichment and family-work enrichment significantly correlated with organizational citizenship behavior through positive mood and job satisfaction. These results confirm the Affective Events Theory. The findings have been discussed based on mood as information and Affective Events Theories. The findings also indicated that some important organizational factors such as positive mood, job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behaviors are not only under influence of job conditions, but are influenced by family circumstances.

Desire for divorce is the degree of desire and interest of couples to separate and break the marital relationship. In studying the causes of divorce, consideration of individual and psychological causes, including desire for divorce is of particular importance. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of integrated Gottman-Emotional focused )GEF( and Strategic-Solution focused (SSF) approaches on decreasing desire for divorce in couples applying for agreed divorce. For this purpose, six couples (12 persons) were selected among all couples referring to counseling centers in Poledokhtar city in 2018. In this research, a single-case experimental design of a multiple baseline was used. The GEF and SSF treatment protocols were implemented in two to four stages of the baseline, eight to ten intervention sessions and three follow up steps. couples responded to divorce desire questionnaire (DDQ) (Rosbult et al, 1986). The results showed that the rate of improvement in the variable of desire for divorce in the group of GEF approach in the post-treatment and follow-up stages was 53.04 and 65% and in the group of SSF approach, 42.98 and 76/51%, in other words, both approaches had a significant effect on the goals of the treatment. Therefore, it can be concluded that in order to reduce the desire for divorce in couples applying for divorce, it is possible to use both integrated Gottman-Emotional focused and integrated Strategic-Solution focused approaches in treatment and consulting sessions.

Marital status is a general assessment of the quality of a marital relationship, i.e., a person's current romantic (satisfaction) or non-romantic (unsatisfactory) relationship, and couples' aggression towards each other is one of the negative behaviors that play a role in marital dissatisfaction. The purpose of this study was the role of sensitivity to victimization, hostile attribute, ion and anger rumination in predicting marital status. This research was a descriptive correlational study. The population included people aged 20 to 50 years living in Ardabil city; 150 samples were selected and studied by convenience sampling method and completed the Justice Sensitivity Inventory (JSA, victim sensitivity sub-scale), Hostile Attributional Bias Questionnaire (SIP-HBQ), Anger Rumination Scale (ARS) and Golomboc-Rast Marital Status Questionnaire (GRIMS). Pearson correlation analysis and multivariate regression were used to analyze the data. The Pearson correlation test results showed a positive and significant relationship between sensitivity to victimization, hostile attribution bias, and anger rumination with marital problems (P <0.001). Also, regression analysis results showed that the sensitivity to victimization, hostile attribution bias and anger rumination significantly predict marital problems. Sensitivity to victimization, hostile attribution and anger rumination as cognitive factors influencing the occurrence of aggressive behavior in the framework of social information processing theory are discussed. The role of these variables in the occurrence of marital problems was investigated.

The current study compared the ffectiveness of schema-based couple therapy and cognitive behavioral couple therapy on the main maladaptive schemas of Kermanshah divorce seeking women. The current study had a semi-experimental with pre-test-post-test design and control group. The statistical population consists of Kermanshah city residents who visited counseling services in the second half of 1400 and were divorcing. 45 individuals who voluntarily signed up to take part in this course were chosen at random and divided into two experimental and control groups depending on the requirements for entering and leaving the study. The research instrument featured Young's Primary Maladaptive Schemas Questionnaire (YSQ-SF). The interventions of the two groups were carried out in groups for 8 sessions of 90 minutes and twice a week. Data were analyzed with SPSS-26 software and statistical tests of univariate analysis of covariance and Benferoni post hoc test with a probability value of 0.05. The results showed that schema-based couple therapy and cognitive-behavioral couple therapy were significantly effective on the initial incompatible schemas of women applying for divorce compared to the control group (P<0.05). Also, no significant difference was observed between the two treatments (P=1). According to the research results, it can be said that these treatment methods can be used in counseling and family psychotherapy environments.

The present study was conducted to predict the attitudes of primiparous pregnant women towards cesarean delivery considering trait anxiety, pain catastrophizing, and perceived stress. The research design was correlational. The statistical population included all primiparous pregnant women who gave birth in Isfahan in 2020-2021 and had a pregnancy record in a comprehensive health service center in Isfahan. By considering the geographical region of the health centers and selecting the sample from all five geographical regions (i.e., North, South, East, West, and Center), it was attempted to include the different cultural and economic backgrounds of the participants. Finally, based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the data of 80 pregnant women were analyzed. The instruments included the Attitude toward Delivery Mode (ADM) questionnaire (Ghadimi, et al., 2014), Speilberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI; Speilberger, 1983), the Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS; Rahmati et al., 2017), and the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS; Cohen et al., 1983). The results of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test, Skewness, and kurtosis showed that the data were normal. In addition, the Pearson correlation showed that attitudes to cesarean delivery had a positive relation with all of the three variables (i.e., trait-anxiety, catastrophic pain, and perceived stress); an increase in one variable led to a positive attitude towards cesarean delivery. Moreover, the stepwise multiple regression analysis showed that trait anxiety, catastrophic pain, and perceived stress could predict the attitudes towards cesarean, respectively. In sum, these three variables explained 30% of the variance in the attitudes of primiparous pregnant women towards cesarean delivery. Having provided negative emotional experiences, trait-anxiety along with pain catastrophizing and perceived stress was effective in the positive attitudes of primiparous pregnant women towards cesarean.

The family is an important part of human fate and plays a vital role in choosing the style and career of future life, pshychic and emotional health and human performance. Parents' personality, their psychological and physical health, and also the parenting styles they employ, affect the children’s behaviors. The aim of this study was to test the causal relationship between parental meta-emotion and child resiliency, mediated by the role of emotional intelligence. A total of 240 participants were selected from Yasuj university students in school year 1392-1393.The data were gathered using 3 inventories: Conner-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC), the Emotional Intelligence Scale Sharing (EISSH) and Swinburne Meta-Emotion Philosophy Scale (SMEPS). The results of data analysis showed that there is a good fit between the model and the gathered data. The direct paths from coaching to emotional intelligence, awareness to emotional intelligence, emotional intelligence to resiliency and coaching to resiliency were significant. The indirect paths from coaching to resiliency and awareness to resiliency were also significant. But the direct path from awareness to resiliency was not significant. The model showed a causal relationship between parental meta-emotion and child resiliency, mediated by the role of emotional intelligence. This shows that parental awareness of different kinds of children’s emotions and guiding them when experiencing these emotions, would be a good help for them to improve their emotional proficiency, emotional management and making a good relationship with others. As a results, it can enhance children’s compatibilities and resiliency in difficult situations.

Among the factors causing conflicts between the couple are the subjects and underlying of their thoughts. In other words, when the couple has their own thoughts and special mental patterns, they may face conflicts in their communication with each other. On this basis, the present research was conducted aiming at determining the effectiveness of training Feldman's integrated approach on the increase of mindfulness and decrease of marital conflicts of the couple. The research was an experimental research of pretest-posttest type with a control group. For this purpose, 10 couples who were eligible for the conditions intended by the researcher were selected and they were then placed in two groups, namely test and witness groups. The test group was then influenced by Feldman integrated approach during 8 sessions each for 90-120 minutes. Mindfulness scale (FFMQ) and Marital Conflict Questionnaire (MCQ) were executed as research instruments in both groups during three stages, namely pretest, posttest and follow-up). The findings obtained from data analysis indicated that there is a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores of test and control groups. It means that training Feldman's integrated approach has increased mindfulness and has decreased marital conflicts of the couples and this effect is durable over time. Considering the findings of the present research, it can be concluded that Feldman's integrated approach can be used by couple therapists and family therapists as one of the interventional procedures.

Abstract: Perspective taking as the cognitive aspect of empathy, is the ability to put oneself in other persons, place. This means that a person understands another person,s situation and walks with his or her shoes. It seems that perspective taking is a feature which is equaly used to increase positive interactions between the romantic and non-romantic relationships. The Self Dyadic Perspective-Taking scale (SDPT) includes items that measure the view of people in couple relationships and Other Dyadic Perspective-Taking scale (ODPT) includes items that measure people,s perceptions of their partners. The aim of the present study was evaluating the psychometric properties of the Self Dyadic Perspective-Taking and Other Dyadic Perspective-Taking scales. A total of 300 married men and women (148 men and 152 women), in Ahvaz, participated in this study. All participants were asked to complete the Self Dyadic Perspective Taking and Other Dyadic Perspective Taking Scales and Batson Empathy Adjective Scale (BEAS). This study confirmed the two-factor structure of Self Dyadic Perspective-Taking scale and two-factor structure of Other Dyadic Perspective-Taking scale. Findings also showed that the Self Dyadic Perspective-Taking scale and the Other Dyadic Perspective-Taking scale are valid and reliable scales for measuring perspective taking. Findings showed that these scales can be used in research studies and the use of these scales in premarital consultation and couple therapy is recommended to psychologists and family counselors.

Abstract: Divorce is an undoubtly damage to the family. Yet, official statistics show that Emotional divorce is now considered a more serious problem. Emotional divorce is a kind of abnormality in the family system through which the relationships does not end in divorce but couples continue their common life for some reason while their marital life may lack love, companionship, and friendship. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of counseling with an emphasis on Choice Theory in reducing emotional divorce among couples. The statistical population included couples referring to counseling centers in Ahvaz from which three couples were selected. Multiple baseline experimental single case was used as the method of the study .A counseling program based on Choice Theory was conducted for eight 90-minutes weekly sessions in the form of the couple therapy treatment. After the intervention, a follow-up was performed with a monthly interval. The participants at baseline, treatment and follow-up responded to Emotional Divorce Scale (EDS). Results showed that the counseling program could reduce the couples' scores on the scale which may, in turn, imply a reduction in their emotional divorce. Couples therapists are recommended use this model to improve the couples' emotional intimacy .

This research aimed to predict marital satisfaction based on love-related attitudes among on-off basis work employees of East Oil and Gas Exploitation Company. This study’s statistical population included all married male Khangiran Sarakhs Oil Company employees and their wives. The convenience sampling method was used to select a sample size of 140 people (85 men and 55 women). According to its purposes and hypotheses, the current study was applied and was of a correlation type. This study used two questionnaires to collect information evaluating the research objectives: Afrooz spouse satisfaction (short form) and love-related attitudes questionnaire (LAS). The research data were analyzed by stepwise regression. The findings of this study revealed that marital satisfaction was predictable based on love-related attitudes Eros (0/53), Pragma (0/08), Ludus (0/02), and Storge (0/18) at the level p<0/01 on an on-off basis work employee of East Oil and Gas Exploitation Company. The results also showed that the Mania and Agape types did not predict marital satisfaction. Based on these findings, it was concluded that love-related attitudes were a variable influencing marital satisfaction of on-off basis work employees and their spouses and a predictor of marital satisfaction of the current research sample. Finally, It is suggested to compare and examine marital satisfaction based on love-related attitudes in on-off basis and non-on-off basis work employees in future research

Marital infidelity is one of the most important injuries and causes of family breakdown that has increased in recent years. Understanding the variables that affect the reduction of psychological problems of people affected by infidelity is very important because it can improve the emotional relationship between couples and reduce the risk of family breakdown. The aim of this study was to investigate the mediating role of forgiveness in the relationship between loneliness and sexual satisfaction with depression and feelings of inferiority in women affected by infidelity. 250 women affected by infidelity in Tehran were selected using purposive sampling method and participated in this study. Participants completed the Russell & Pilva & Cortona (1980) Loneliness Questionnaire, Larson et al. (1998), Ray et al. (2001), Beck Depression (1996), and Yao et al. (1997). Findings showed that the direct effects of loneliness, sexual satisfaction and forgiveness on depression and feelings of inferiority are significant. The results of path analysis showed that forgiveness has a mediating role in the relationship between loneliness and sexual satisfaction with depression and feelings of inferiority. Based on the research findings, the role of forgiveness in the occurrence and exacerbation of depression and feelings of inferiority can be confirmed. As a result, by providing the necessary training to women affected by infidelity in order to improve forgiveness skills, the harm caused by infidelity can be reduced.

: School bonding (school connectedness) refers to a communication between the student and other aspects of his life. This construct represents a student's sense of attachment and commitment to school, his experience of being attended at school and having a sense of closeness to staff and school setting. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the relation of family coherence, educational support and academic resilience to school-bonding and its components (commitment, empowerment, attachment and believing in rules). The statistical population was all 11th grade students studying in Dezful in the academic year 2015-2016 of which350 were selected as a sample. To measure the variables, the Scale of Family Coherence (SFC), Sanders and Planck's Scale of Educational Support (SES), Samuels's Academic Resilience Inventory (ARI) and Brown & Evans's Scale of Bonding to School (SCS) were used. Results showed a significantly positive relation between family coherence, the components of academic support (support by peers, parents and teachers) and those of educational resilience (orientation toward future, communication skills and problem-oriented/ positive thinking) and components of bonding to school (commitment, empowerment, attachment and believing in rules). A set of predicator variables are able to predict the criterion variables for this study. Also, the results of the stepwise regression correlation indicated that educational support, academic resilience and family coherence are respectively significant predicators for a bonding to school.

Remarriage is a phenomenon which affects not only one couple, and one family, but also several couples and families based on the individual situation, and their roles. This study aimed to survey the individuals lived experience in remarriage after divorce. This research was a qualitative research which was done by the phenomenological method with descriptive approach. The participants were selected by purposive sampling method. A semi-structured profound interview was done with 12 people, including 7 women and 5 men. For analyzing the data, the Colizzi method was used. Eight main themes which are “Incentives for remarriage”, “criteria for choosing a new spouse”, “hope for a better life”, “friendly, and intimate life in remarriage”, “feeling of love and satisfaction”, “maturity in remarriage”, “challenges associated to remarriage”, and “re-divorce” were obtained. The results indicated that different aspects of individual’s remarriage are largely affected by their previous marriage. The person's prior marriage affects every step of the remarriage process, from deciding to do so and selecting a partner to how to handle disagreements and communicate during it. In fact, those who get remarried use their first marriage as a criterion and tend to steer clear of anything like their first union. Individuals in remarriage seek for a marriage which does not have the negative characteristics of the first marriage, and even has the ability to compensate for its defect.

: Marital conflict is a growing phenomenon that causes great harm to societies. This study aimed to model marital conflicts based on the acceptance and action and beliefs and thoughts of couples mediated by mindfulness. The present study was descriptive-correlational and structural equation modeling. A total of 270 married women referring to counseling centers in Ardabil were selected by simple random sampling method and were asked to use the Marital Conflict Questionnaire (MCQ), Acceptance and Action Questionnaire - Second Edition (AAQ-II), Couples Beliefs Scale (CBT), and Five-Dimensional Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ). The collected data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results showed that the variables of acceptance and action and beliefs and thoughts of couples have a negative and significant direct effect on marital conflicts. Mindfulness has a direct negative and significant effect on marital conflicts. Also, acceptance and action and beliefs and thoughts of couples in addition to direct impact, have a negative and significant indirect effect on marital conflicts through mindfulness which was observed according to the obtained result for VAF statistics. 37.4% of the effect of couples' beliefs and thoughts on marital conflict and 29% of the effect of acceptance and action on marital conflict can be explained through mindfulness. The findings of this study showed that mindfulness as a mediating variable can explain the relationship between marital conflicts, acceptance and action, and the beliefs and thoughts of couples, and acceptance and action, beliefs and thoughts of couples reduce marital conflicts. According to the obtained results, family experts can reduce the rate of marital conflicts by emphasizing the increase of competencies related to acceptance and practice, couples 'beliefs, and mindfulness, and consequently lead to a sustainable continuation of couples' lives.

Parents with disabled children are at the forefront of caring for their children. This research was conducted to analyze the challenges of couples with a teenage child with intellectual disabilities. In the current research, a qualitative method of interpretive phenomenology was used. The population included couples with adolescent children with intellectual disabilities in Tehran in 2021. The participants were selected through the purposive sampling method; 15 couples underwent semi-structured interviews until data saturation emerged. To analyze the data, the Colaizzi Method was used. The result of data analysis led to the identification of 27 initial codes, five axial codes, and two selective codes. The first selective theme, intra-family process challenges, was identified with the sub-theme of the couple’s behavior towards each other, the couple’s behavior towards the intellectual child, and the children’s behaviors with each other. The second selective theme was extra-family process challenges including social and economic problems. In general, it can be concluded that having a mentally intellectual child affects the functioning of the family, especially couples. Considering the importance of investigating marital challenges in different physical, mental, social, and spiritual dimensions and their other effects on the lives of parents of teenagers with disabilities, the findings of this research can be used to develop and strengthen counseling and support services for couples with disabled children.

Marital satisfaction has been widely acknowledged as a crucial determinant of marriage stability. One key factor that impacts marital satisfaction is the type of behavioral activation and inhibition system present in an individual. Individual differences in the behavioral brain system play a significant role in how couples respond to interpersonal problems, resulting in distinct behavioral feedback. If utilized correctly, this system can positively impact the quality of a couple's relationship and promote family stability. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between behavioral activation/inhibition systems and marital satisfaction with the mediation of mentalization. The research was conducted using a correlation method, and the statistical population comprised married individuals residing in Tehran in 2021. Of these, a sample size of 370 was selected using a multi-stage cluster sampling method and administered a demographic questionnaire, the Enrich Marital Satisfaction Questionnaire, the Behavioral Activation and Inhibition Scale, and the mentalization Questionnaire. The results of the path analysis indicated that the behavioral inhibition system with the mediation of mentalization is effective in marital satisfaction, and the inhibition system has a negative and meaningful relationship with marital satisfaction and mentalization. On the other hand, mentalization had a direct, positive, and significant impact on marital satisfaction. Additionally, the activation system significantly impacted marital satisfaction with the mediation of mentalization. The activation system had a direct, positive, and significant impact on mentalization, but only a positive and direct relationship between the activation system and marital satisfaction could not be established. These findings suggest that the behavioral activation and inhibition system can predict marital satisfaction directly and indirectly through mentalization. Consequently, it is recommended that experts in the field of family examine these structures to promote marital satisfaction among couples.
